Phobias

A Phobia can be thought of as an anxiety or fear which has developed and become so strong that it can take over a person’s life. The fear becomes so severe that the sufferer will go to extraordinary lengths to avoid coming face to face with object of the fear even though they may be aware that their feelings are irrational.

The phobia generally arises from a traumatic event that was experienced, sometimes and usually in childhood but sometimes in adulthood. On occasion the sensitising event is already known to the individual but sometimes, it s regarded as having been inherited from an older family member.

Whether it originated from nature or nurture, hypnotherapy is an ideal tool for discovering the source, dealing with the event from the past and reframing the future.
